Blurb

Two strangers in Paris ...
One passionate, earth-shattering kiss.

He was the artist upstairs
with the tantalizing smile and laughing eyes.

He was the devil inviting me to sin,
seducing me to dance in the bright moonlight.

He was desire and need.

When he touched me, my body sang--
my soul came alive.

But I belonged to another man,
and he didn't want to let me go.

Gah! This.Book! I was totally blown away. I've been waiting for this for what seems like forever and when it finally hit my reader I could not help but shout for a BR. I needed someone I can talk to about this book, someone I could rant with and share thoughts.I hadn't even started it yet then, but knowing Mia Asher, I expected the unexpected. And with the state I was in with Arsen and Virtue series, there is no way I was going to read this book alone. Call me whatever you wanna call me but this author is tricky as hell, and I was so scared to start reading it. And boy..oh boy..when I did, Wow! Best feeling ever!

Love Me In The Dark grabbed my attention with that hot cover. Man, Amadeo Leandro is a woman's wet dream and knowing he's the male cover for Mia Asher's up coming release there's no way you'll make a pass on it. Add up the blurb that effortlessly will draw you even more, and I am so dead. Right there and then, I was in love already. People keep talking about it. It has been a buzz for so long and it has been the most anticipated book, so I could not wait to delve in deeper. I have to read it, and see for myself what Mia is in store for us this time . I'm maybe scared but hell, I was so excited I feel the chills.

And I was not disappointed. I love it to bits of pieces. The moment I started reading it, I cannot put the book down. I was hooked by that Prologue alone. It took my heart away and fueled me to read further with anticipation so high. Yes I was on a high reading this book. The feels and emotions Mia Asher delivers with her magical and lyrical prose is on point and I couldn't help myself from keeping on turning the pages out of thirst and hunger. When I met Seb and Val, with that earth shattering kiss that led them to a forbidden territory, My God, my body and soul even sang praises to Mia for a wondrous portrayal of the characters and the emotions that comes with it. Val and Seb had chemistry I easily connected with. With Sebs, French lines. whoop Lordy my knickers were drenched!

Admittedly, the book is so different from her previous ones. Where the others packed a full angst that will keep you in the edge until the end, Love Me In The Dark, might be angst-ish but sweet and more into the romantic side. I could not help but smile and swoon. Reading this made me pause several times so just I can relive the moment. It was slow burn romance at it's finest and even without too much angst and drama I love it completely. Basically because it was consistent. And as my reading buddy said, it's PICTURESQUE. It definitely is, set in Paris, all I wanted to do is to magically crawl in the book and experience it myself. Everything was just described vividly and it just only added more realness in the story. And my God, that twist I never saw coming!!! What the hell Mia? I never expected that. I read that chapter all over again just to make sure I read the right one, and I did. You are just so twisted and that really brought my feelings into the nth level of a perverted side. But then, as always you really aimed to deliver. I haven't really thought of William when I met Seb. William who again? But then you wrote that scene and all I can say is, give me some more William.

Overall, I love this book and highly recommend it. Sebs and Val are the kind of characters you wanted to get lost with. As a hopeless romantic woman, this story fed my hungry soul. As I said, it's so different from her previous works but excellently written all the same, fast paced and is easy to read. Right now, even hours after reading, I cannot help but think about dancing in the rain, that owl that for fuck's sake I never even thought would have a special place in my heart but it does. There is no way I cannot attribute those things with this story, and there is no way I can just forget it or wont mind about it after reading this book.

To Mia Asher, great job! As always, you never cease to amaze me.

When I first read the blurb to this story I thought to myself: This book is going to chew you up and spit you out with your emotions laying hazardous on the floor. I was ready for those kind of emotions and quite frankly, I CRAVED it more than you will ever know. “Love Me In the Dark” was a sweet, touching story about finding love again when you least expected it.

Valentina has been married for twelve years to a husband that simply adores her. Like any marriage, they’ve certainly had their ups and downs but they’re determined to make it work and going to Paris is their first step. But not all plans have a way of working out and for Valentina, her life is about to shaken up in the form of a mysterious painter.

Ten years ago, Sebastian’s entire world was flipped upside down. Still feeling the impact like it was yesterday, he goes through his emotions by not living life like he’s supposed too. Sure he’s a successful Artist and has more money than he knows what to do with, but his personal life is another story. Meeting a woman who breathed life into him for the first time, is going to forever change his life.

I really liked the premise of this story and I loved that it was set in Paris but unfortunately that was the only thing I loved. I couldn’t for the life of me connect with any of these characters and no matter how hard I tried, it just wasn’t working. Valentina was a lovely woman but she was a little too weak for me and quite frankly she frustrated the heck out of me and that’s putting it mildly.

I will admit that I sympathized with Sebastian’s past after reading the prologue but beyond that, I felt nothing else for him and I was saddened for that because I really wanted to love him like everyone else. I also felt like everything moved too fast with Valentina and Sebastian relationship and I was expecting a lot of angst but unfortunately that never happened. That being said, if youre a fan of this author’s work, then this one is for you.

Author Bio

I'm a writer, a hopeless romantic, a wanderer, a dreamer, a cynic, and a believer. And, I might be a bit crazy - but who isn't?

I believe in happy endings however I know that not everyone is lucky enough to get one, but such is life. I think fine lines exist to be pushed and possibly crossed.

Love,
M.
